Who We Are:
Angela Taylor
Angela Taylor is a multi-faceted artist and arts instructor living and working in Indiana. Angela works with a variety of media but focuses primarily on blown glass. Angela studied fine arts at the Herron School of Art and Design and began learning the art of glass at the Indianapolis Art Center (IAC) in 1999. Now a glassblowing instructor at the IAC, Angela equally enjoys creating her own art and teaching others of all ages how to express their creativity through blowing glass. Angela shows and sells her work at a variety of local galleries and often lends her talents to assist other local artists in collaborative works. Mark Oberting
Mark Oberting is not only an accomplished glass blower, he also works in a diverse array of other mediums including glass, metal, wood and watercolor. A true artist at heart, his diversity is driven by the constant appreciation and awareness of the beauty that is present in everyday life. “I believe anyone can be creative, it just comes easier for some as with anything in life.”
Mark’s work has been displayed at numerous galleries in Indiana in addition to Riley Children’s Hospital, the Indianapolis Art Center, Indianapolis Glass Art Alliance, and the Marian & Eugene Glick Eye Institute. Additionally, he frequently participates in demonstrations workshops and exhibitions sponsored by the IGGA.
Mark and Angela crossed paths in 2003 and they quickly became not only friends but glass partners. Since then, they have worked on numerous collaborative projects together. “It’s such an effortless relationship, as great minds think alike.”
